Coming together through tragedy

St. Joseph Catholic School has been a cornerstone of the Salem community for over 160 years, and we proudly continue our traditions and culture despite the setbacks of the fire. It is amazing what we can accomplish, even through tragedy. As a faith community, St. Joseph pulled together after the fire like nowhere else that I’ve ever seen. I am so proud and grateful to be a member of this church. The outpouring of love and support has been inspiring, and it is that inspiration that pushes us forward into the future. That inspiration helps us to strive to be the best Catholic school that we can be, creating the Catholic leaders of our future.

Due to the current economic profile of the country, we have fewer students this year than expected. Inflation has hit families hard, and that translates to fewer family expenses, including tuition. Even though we have fewer students, our programs still continue.  We offer so many programs to our kids, including in-house catechesis for the sacraments of Penance, First Communion, and Confirmation. We have the Spirit of Truth religious program that combines a love of our faith with great works of art used as history markers. We have state-of-the-art science and social studies programs that allow our students to excel as they graduate and move on to high school. Each class is carefully designed to bring out the best academically in our students.

We work hard to bring the children of this parish the best of both worlds: an excellent academic foundation and an exceptional Catholic experience. Students of St. Joseph Catholic School understand that the virtues that we discuss daily can be easily practiced and incorporated into daily life. They are challenged by academic rigor at every turn. And they learn how to assimilate their love of faith into every aspect of their lives. We ask that you consider giving to the Annual Appeal this year, to help us in our efforts to build educationally successful Catholic students - the best of both worlds. 

Why your donation matters

We want as many students as possible to be able to receive a St. Joseph School education.  Your donation helps us to provide the resources necessary for our students, provide financial aid, as well as allowing us to provide wonderful teachers and support staff.  We hope you will consider supporting St. Joseph School.  Many people choose to give to our organization in place of gifts and others look at it as a way to celebrate their gratitude for their life by sharing with others.
